{"id":84685,"date":"2016-07-27T01:31:30","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T01:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/condomsense.lrau.com\/cd2\/?p=84685"},"modified":"2016-10-07T02:55:12","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T02:55:12","slug":"how-you-phrase-a-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lrau.com\/wp\/2016\/07\/27\/how-you-phrase-a-question\/","title":{"rendered":"How you phrase  a question&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you think by simply changing the way your phrase a question can change the answer you get? \u00a0 \u00a0The answer is yes. \u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/braingames.nationalgeographic.com\/\">One of my favorite TV shows, Brain Games. \u00a0had a great example. \u00a0I apologize for not remembering the episode, but they are on the national georgraphic channel web site.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0The setup, was simple. \u00a0Show a car accident, and then have a policeman ask questions of witnesses, and see if they can help figure out who was at fault. \u00a0 The policeman asked 2 different groups the same question, but in two different ways. \u00a0In fact it was one word in each sentence was changed.<\/p>\n<p>The officer asked the witnesses, how fast do you think the car was going when it tapped the other car, or how fast do you think the car was going when it smashed into the other car. \u00a0The witnesses had 2 different answers. \u00a0And it should be obvious. \u00a0Those who believed that the car was speeding, and those who thought the car was barely moving. \u00a0 So changing one word in the question actually changes what someone saw. \u00a0The car was going the same speed for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Just seeing that, I now think about more about what I say, and how I phrase questions.<\/p>\n<p>My world famous disclaimer\u2026 \u00a0so, this blog has nothing to do about my current employer. \u00a0I provide the information without warranty blah blah blah.
